Development Engineer 
IN MUSKEGON, MI

Job Function:

Provide technical and project execution skills to work on specific phases or aspects of engineering projects such as concepts, technical studies, determination of specifications, technical plans etc.

Continuously monitor and adjust to industry trends in braking system. Retain advanced level application know how, including design, simulation, process development, prototyping and simultaneous engineering with the manufacturing plants, as well as product launch activities.

Plan and conduct tests and validation. Support/ensure data quality and write technical project reports and/or papers.

Support commercial quote activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Interfacing with the customer. Demonstrate the ability to be responsive.
        • Trade show and technical conference attendance as needed as advocate of Scherdel Innotec NA to increase market awareness of Scherdel’s product and service portfolio.
        • Assist in the DFMEA’s and PFMEA’s.
        • Conceptualize new designs and proposals.
        • Assist in implementing new materials and processes.
        • Conduct industry and market research, i.e., IHS database, A2MAC1 etc.

                  Position Requirements:

                  • Bachelor’s Degrees Mechanical / Industrial Engineering or equivalent - Required
                  • Interested in mobility and/or industrial manufacturing sector.
                      • Hands on experience preferred.

                      Desired skills:

                      • Advanced GD&T knowledge. Real-world knowledge and experience for programming measurement equipment such as CMM and vision systems. Data analysis tools such as Minitab. DOE knowledge, preferred.
                      • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with the customer base and internally, both verbal and written. Computer skills in windows environment required.
