Stamping Machine Operator 
IN MUSKEGON, MI

Summary:
To load, operate, and adjust spring machines and auxiliary equipment to maintain required quality and quantity of production.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, hand sketches, and follow verbal or written instructions.
  • Execute duties autonomously with a keen eye for detail and a willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Work under the guidance and training of the Production Supervisor and Team Leader.
  • Notify supervisor of production delays and causes of delay.
  • Notify the Production Supervisor or Team Leader of any recurring equipment malfunctions.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the production area, including sweeping floors, dusting cabinets, and organizing storage shelves and worktables.
  • Monitor the quality of products in process and finished products according to work instructions.
  • Perform minor/basic equipment adjustments once trained.
  • Ensure adherence to ISO/IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 Standards.
  • Maintain a strong focus on production quality and process standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to solve problems and actively seek opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Employ flexibility to meet team, department, and company goals.
  • Works according to Scherdel’s quality and environmental system requirements, and customer quality requirement.

Position Requirements:

  • Highschool Diploma or GED: Required

Skills

  • Minimum one year experience in a manufacturing environment. Ability to follow directions and be a self-starter. Ability to use required measurement tools including calipers, gages, micrometers and comparators. Ability to read and follow blueprints. Commit to team success through reliable attendance.
  • Ability to bend twist and stand for periods up to 8-12 hours
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs if required
  • Ability to work repetitive tasks
  • Must be able to perform duties in a fast paced environment
