Technical Sales Engineer

Job Function:

The role of a Technical Sales Engineer encompasses a multifaceted set of responsibilities within the organization. Primarily, this individual collaborates closely with customers and Scherdel Wiesauplast's technical teams, both locally and globally, to facilitate the development of innovative products and processes that align with the company's strategic business plan. Their role extends to guiding project engineering teams to ensure the successful and timely launch of new products, encompassing aspects such as quality, tooling, materials, processing, and design. This Technical Sales Engineer plays a vital role in bridging the gap between technical feasibility and commercial viability, striving to meet the company's objectives and guidelines while optimizing profitability for each project and customer. Their contribution is pivotal in achieving the organization's sales goals and maintaining strong customer relationships through technical expertise and collaboration.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop and maintain customer relationship according to Scherdel Wieauplast customer matrix
  • Work with Global Key Account Managers to effectively communicate capabilities and goals
  • Establish Scherdel Wiesauplast as a leader in marketable products
  • Establishing close contact with all relevant customer departments to gain their assistance in the development of our products and programs
      • Responsible for product design of products for customers. This work may include part design, validation testing, failure analysis (FMEA), customer interfacing and simultaneous engineering with the manufacturing plant (both internal and external).
        • Experience in understanding and translating technical requirements, and policy/regulatory information for commercial applicability.
        • Work with headquarters, sales applications, and administration groups to develop a consistent sales strategy
        • Organize the group's resources effectively to meet the demands of the marketplace
        • Actively participates in achieving company goals and objectives
        • Travel required locally in North America and internationally
        • Works according to Scherdel Wiesauplast and the customer’s quality and environmental system requirements

        Position Requirements:

        • Bachelors degree in business and/or engineering preferred
        • Equivalent experience in field

        Competencies:

        • Self-Driven.
        • Ability to multitask.
        • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
